All I can say is WOW… if you have never participated in a long endurance event, you can’t imagine the feeling of accomplishment. We were overwhelmed at the number of people that took part in this race- over 21,000! (and of those only about 1,000 were men)
We were part of the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society Team-In-Training. I had an idea of what to expect, but the reality was amazing! The training and coaching we received, the support at the event was beyond expectations. To get us ready to do an event like this (me at 57 and my husband at 60) was not an easy task.. But we came, we ran (and walked), we finished!
The Team-In-Training Team participants (about 181) raised over $530,000 to benefit the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society. The people we met from all over the country inspired us to persevere. Our work is not over… fighting Blood Cancers is certainly a MARATHON… We continue our efforts to raise as much as possible to improve treatments, and find cures. So… we are planning on doing the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon at Disneyland in Jan 2013! Join our Team… or Support us with a donation.

"Working with Trees of Hope has been awesome. They have a great goal, and are constantly moving forward and pushing themselves to do more to help fund research and to support local patient services. I think it's pretty awesome what they're doing."
